Certificate in Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
(Available at our Northern Virginia Center)
Companies and federal agencies wishing to maintain their position in Northern Virginia's digital climate have a need for skilled employees with a strong understanding of Java programming. Our graduate certificate program, which focuses on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) specification for distributed web-based applications, is designed to provide the essential tools needed to develop applications that can accommodate multiple platforms. The curriculum provides concepts and techniques for building server-side applications for dynamic data-driven web sites.
The certificate requires the completion of 6 courses (18 credits). This credential is valuable for those employees tasked with, or interested in, the development of dynamic data-driven web sites using Java. A knowledge and/or background of Java programming is required for the graduate classes. For those not familiar with Java, two bridge courses are offered as prerequisites: IT 321 Introduction to Programming Using Java and IT 421 Applying Data Structures Using Java.
