Course Description: Successful managers must plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of others. This course covers the basic responsibilities of managers and gives easy to remember analogies and reminders to understand and sustain good management practices. Topics to be discussed and illustrated include: effective delegation, managing versus micro-managing, managing the managers' time, managing multiple projects simultaneously and giving effective feedback. Ideas presented are appplied to real situations based on case studies and by individual experiences described by participants. Participants are encouraged to discuss and debate how, as a manager, they would best resolve, exploit or contend with various work situations.
Prerequisites: Group management or supervisory experience
