Algebra I Add-On Endorsement
(Available at our Northern Virginia Center)
The Office of Mathematics Outreach at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies collaborates with the University of Virginia’s Mathematics Department to offer a series of courses designed specifically to assist licensed classroom teachers who are seeking the Algebra I Add-On Endorsement. These courses are designed to meet the mathematics competencies outlined in the licensure regulations for school personnel. The courses needed by an individual teacher are based on that teacher’s prior coursework in mathematics. You can review regulation 8VAC20-22-440 in the licensure policy to determine the competencies you need to secure the Algebra I Add-On Endorsement.
The computer science requirement may be met by validation of an undergraduate course in computer science or by taking a basic computer science course at a Virginia community college.
The endorsement series is offered on a continuing basis in the Northern Virginia Center. The series can also be offered on a contractual basis in your school division. All courses in the series offer three graduate credits.
